Speech Therapy

Speech therapy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) focuses on improving communication and swallowing skills to enhance daily living and quality of life. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) assess individual needs related to expressive and receptive language, social communication, and swallowing difficulties. Therapy may involve strategies such as using visual supports, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) devices, and exercises for safe swallowing. Speech Therapy will focus on fostering greater independence and social interaction for individuals with IDD.

  • Utilization of holistic speech therapy practices.
  • Improvement of overall communication skills.
  • Enhancement of swallowing safety.
  • Foster social interactions through personalized treatment plans.
  • Address communication and emotional well-being of all individuals.
  • Emphasize community connection and provide resources that extend beyond therapy.

Whether it’s a meal shared safely, a first word spoken, or a message tapped out on a screen - every success in communication and swallowing is worth celebrating.
