Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy (OT) focuses on living life to the fullest! Occupational therapists use evidenced based interventions to improve an individual’s functional participation in meaningful activity. The “occupation” in occupational therapy refers to activities: the necessary tasks that we perform daily to propel us through the day, and the activities we choose to do which give our lives meaning. The ability to have a choice and participate, if desired, in self-care, home management, vocation, leisure, and social activities is essential to live a fulfilling life and fosters a sense of accomplishment and self – sufficiency.

  • Assess and recommend durable medical equipment (DME) and adaptive equipment (AE) for all necessary and desired activities.
  • Fine motor skills (hand – grasp, dexterity, etc.)
  • Functional mobility.
  • Social Skills.
  • Endurance, balance, strength, range of motion and coordination for functional tasks.
  • Sensory and motor processing skills.

Breaking down barriers and empowering individuals through participation in meaningful activities can lead to a more fulfilled life.
