Welcome to Clinical Services!
About Clinical Services
Makom believes that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities should have healthcare designed specifically to meet them where they are and address their medical needs. To improve the healthcare status of people with IDD, Makom has established the Department of Clinical Services.
Clinical services mean the direct and/or indirect provision of healthcare services to and for the benefit of people with IDD requiring such services. We invite you to explore our website to learn more, and please reach out with any questions.
Our Services
Behavioral/Mental Health Support
Behavior is one of the many ways people communicate, whether through words or actions. By understanding what drives each behavior and supporting their unique needs, we can help them thrive and achieve a better quality of life.
Speech Language Pathology
The best diagnostic technology plus a committed and empathetic staff produces significantly improved health and social outcomes for our patients.
Occupational Therapy
We address each client’s needs holistically, by evaluating an individual’s sensory processing, gross and fine motor skills, cognition, and psychosocial skills. By implementing a client-centered care plan, we empower individuals to thrive in their daily lives.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy treatment ranges from educating direct support professionals to providing individualized therapy based on a person’s deficits, including strength training, balance training, gait improvement, and fall risk reduction.
Dietetics/Nutrition
We provide individuals and families with culturally sound, evidence-based nutrition options to meet unique needs. We strive to thrive, not just survive.
Makom Clinical Services handles people with IDD with kindness, compassion, understanding, and respect. In this setting, the clinicians will treat IDD individuals with compassion and accept each of them as a significant and valuable individual.
