We are Makom on a Roll, a partnership between Char Bar and Makom. This partnership combines Char Bar’s delicious kosher-certified menu with hospitality and culinary support provided by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from Makom. Creating meaningful employment opportunities while expanding access to kosher cuisine across the DMV.
Our Mission
Makom on a Roll provides valuable job experience to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from our nonprofit, Makom, who are seeking self-determined lives. These individuals participate in internships with our food truck, which serves as a launching point for gaining skills and experience that can be transferred to future employment opportunities.
